Welcome to a magical evening in the Brändön archipelago! Join us on an exciting boat trip where we chase the Northern Lights under the starry sky.
When darkness falls, we board the boat. We navigate out into the quiet archipelago, far from the city lights. With only the Bothnian Sea and low islands to the north, we have a perfect, unobstructed view of the sky – the best conditions for experiencing the Northern Lights.
During the tour we serve a warming snack with a sandwich, coffee or tea.
We find a sheltered spot to dock and warm ourselves by a crackling fire. Here we wait patiently, with our eyes fixed on the northern horizon, for nature's own light show to begin. Our guide tells us about the phenomenon and shares tips for capturing the Northern Lights in pictures.
Hopefully we will have a successful evening where we will see the green, violet and white veils of the northern lights dancing across the sky.
The tour starts at 9:00 PM and lasts approximately 3 hours.
We just arrived home from another fabulous stay with Brandon Lodge. They took care of arranging all of the activities so makes the stay very easy. They provide a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere and made to feel at home. Cabins cater for all you need and are very warm! The food is outstanding and you couldn’t fault any of the staff - everyone from our airport transfer to the management and guides all are friendly and knowledgable and nothing is too much trouble.
All outer-wear cold weather clothing is provided too!

Friendly staff, good food, clean cabin, and activities to pick from. We stayed at one of the self-serve cabins. There were two rooms, 4 beds total, a restroom with shower (soaps provided) and hairdryer, a small living area where we could play cards, a kitchenette with dorm size fridge, microwave, a cupboard of glasses and dishes, and a sink. At the lodge we had breakfasts and dinners, all of which were freshly and expertly made by the nicest staff. We took advantage of a couple of activities and were treated like old friends every step of the way.

We have recently returned from an incredible five days staying at Brandon Lodge with our 9 year old twins. I cannot praise this place more! The setting is stunning. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that you are having your best possible experience and the food is amazing! We did dog sledding, snow mobiling, ice fishing and the Sami/Reindeer experience and loved all of them. In between activities the children spent all their time toboggoning next to the lodge. They had their best holiday ever. We all did. We were even lucky enough to see the northern lights. Thank you to all the team. We hope to come back!
